Our 6″ tamper with long handle is made with a 1/4″ thick steel plate that is mig welded to 1/4″ thick reinforcement gussets. The handle is schedule 40 tube steel that will take a pounding without deformation. 51″ long handle is great for improved posture when using versus standard 44″ long handles. All the steel used is American made. USA made.
I am very impressed with this tamper and it’s quality and weight. The 6″ x 6″ dimensions will be perfect for compacting trenches.
