Short Double Bit Axe Handle 28″ made of white dense hickory, supreme grade. This handle will fit 2-3 lbs. cruiser or saddle axe heads. Standard double bit style oval axe eye measures approximately 2-1/4″ x 5/8″. It is 28″ long. The body of this handle is oval shaped for improved ergonomics and grip. Double sanded for a smooth finish.
You can also let us make your own custom 28″ double bit axe handle. Choose your own eye size, grain, grade and finish in the options menu and have it made how you prefer. We offer the option to buy rough turned axe handles, for those who want to fully tune their handle.
When you choose a custom handle allow up to 2 weeks of additional time to prepare your order.
Includes 1 poplar wedge and 1 steel wedge.

I got an old double bit that was my Grandpas’ and the handle was cracked bad. Mind you this axe is probably over 80 years old. I put the effort into getting it cleaned and sharpened and after putting the new handle it looks like new and cuts/splits like it was made yesterday! The handle is perfect and I can’t say how happy I am with how well it fit and how secure it is. Thank You!!!!
